The
Wo'se Community Church Website
HAPPY
21ST ANNIVERSARY WO'SE, SACRAMENTO!
As
our 21st Anniversary approaches (Sunday, 16 July 2006) Wo'se Church of Sacramento
launches its long-awaited website. In the spirit of Ujima, this site is truly
a reflection of the Collective Work and Responsibility in the Wo'se community.
Many people contributed to this effort, and we would like to mention just a few
noteworthy contributors without whom this site would still be only a thought.
It
was Minister Imhotep Alkebulan who initially put the idea out there to
have a website and persisted in his intention to see it through. All creation
begins with a dream, and idea. He also contributed a plethora of photos from which
we will select some to post online.
Thanks
also go out to Sister Valeria Gadsden-Sams for providing photos from the
Women's Day event and driving across town to deliver information for the site.
Also
we recognize Sister Aissata Morton for lending valuable organizational
perspectives for the direction and development of the site and also for coordinating
communications to foster the delivery of necessary materials. She also contributed
many of the photos that will be chosen from in the near future.
To
Brother Willie Benett and Brother Calvin Moree (Wo'se Oakland),
we offer a special note of gratitude for their 11th hour behind the scenes effort
to obtain the server space and domain name. For without their sustained effort
at a critical time, this site would not have made it in time for the anniversary
celebration this weekend.
Special
notoriety is reserved for Sister Alicia Lovelady-Teasley. It was she who
gave the site it initial structure and substance that carried it pass the critical
stage onto the downward slope of effort. As usual, she ran a strong leg before
handing over the baton for the homestretch.
If
we are forgetting anyone else, we apologize but are nonetheless grateful for your
contribution.
Ashé!
